Black and White Striped Face Mask No. 105501 AKA the “Winona Face Mask” is a vintage design made from striped fabric I’ve had since the 1990s.

There were so many ways I could’ve gone with naming this mask. Thank you to everyone on Instagram for all your great ideas! I was inspired by the Beetlejuice suggestion, and ended up with the “Winona” mask.

From her roles as Lydia Deetz in “Beetlejuice” to Joyce Byers in “Stranger Things”, Winona has always been one of my favorite weirdos. Her kleptomaniac episodes in 2001 and in 2008 further suggest that even IRL she is indeed, “strange and unusual”.

In regards to fashion history, stripes came into popular fashion during the mid-1800s, after Queen Victoria dressed her son Albert in a striped sailor suit. Prior to then and dating back to Medieval times, stripes had been used a marker for social outcasts (criminals, prostitutes, hangmen).

Universal Face Mask Sizing

FMV face masks are UNISEX AND ONE-SIZE-FITS-ALL. Since the ear loops have considerable stretch (up to 10 inches), FMV face masks should fit most face sizes. Please see the measurements below if you are unsure.

Ear Loop: 5 ¼ inches and up to 10 inches when stretched

Across the Face: 9 inches

Across Chin: 7 inches

From Nose to Chin: 7 ½ inches

FMV face masks are crafted from 3 LAYERS OF WASHABLE FABRIC, and include a POLYPROPYLENE BUILT-IN FILTER. All FMV materials are cleaned and pre-shrunk before sewing to avoid any warping. In order to maintain a lower carbon footprint, FMV Face Masks are packaged using biodegradable goods.
